What part of this is not clear enough to understand?I have a problem with my J3 emerge and the TWRP recovery after it was installed. I get these error messages saying:
"could not mount /data and unable to find cypto footer"
"failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
unable to recreate /data/media folder.
UPDATING PARTITION DETAILS...
Failed to mount "/data (invalid argument)
...done
unable to mount storage
failed to mount "/data' (invalid argument)
FULL SELinux support is present
unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps
MTP EnabledIs this corrupted partition information and why does the data partion always read 0mbs
when I try to repair this under advance wipe I get:
/sbin/e2fsk -fp /dev/block/mmcblk0p48 process
ended with error: 8
unable to repair data
how do I repair this error or how do I repair the corrupted partitions on my phone without completely bricking my device??? I have tried to install a couple of different ROMS (the J3rom magisk and pphbarebones rom as well as the QF4 buildwith Odin as well as the zip file... I am here as well as there... thanks for any help...
Also I need the firmware for galaxy j3 emerge SM-J327PVPU3AQJ3 BUILD:MMB29M
To disable forced encryption and mount internal storage:
(Note this MUST be flashed after SuperSU if you intend to root)1. Boot to Twrp
2. Format Data partition using FORMAT DATA button under Wipe options.
(Note: This will wipe the internal storage)
3. Check DATA is mountable.
4. Install SuperSU (if root is required)
5. Install boot image patch below.
6. RebootBoot image patch

The instructions are in the OP of this thread. There is nothing more required.
If you don't understand what is posted then maybe you shouldn't be modifying your device or at least Google what you don't understand.
first page is the hardest to get to ashyx, . I made the mistake of upgrading to AQJ3 and I'm pissed now, but your ROOT/TWRP are still magic and keep me interested in my now $80 Boost J327. Thanks for all the hard work you do. I appreciate it more than you know. Trying to work on a way to downgrade firmware back to OG now but pretty sure without some kinda special equipment I'll just have t rig the new files with files from old FW. I can't even flash an old backup without loosing either Wifi or Data in general. I'm still learning but without you, XDA, and wanting to boost my sound (found XDA on google with a Viper4Android search) I wouldnt love doing these things now. Still very much willing to be a tester for you or any other experienced developer even if it F's my phone up..... but honestly the J3 IMO is pretty bullet proof, I know I've done everything wrong, right, and stupid... re flashed at least a couple hundred times and it still is just like new, even throwing it against walls and such (never seen a phone that can take such a beating). Anyways PM me if I can help any further. Might make a trip to Wally World soon and try and a a QF4 before theyre all gone. Thanks again buddy.

You are correct. Go into wipe settings and type yes to format data, then reboot recovery and flash the patch. Or use a boot.img with force encryption and dm-verity disabled already.I'm having issues with TWRP. When I try to backup or flash a zip it says "unable to mount /data" (invalid argument) and unable to mount storage. Do I have to wipe the data partition and make it mountable? Then flash no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx.zip? My phone is completely stock other than Magisk 16.0. For some reason safetynet check ctsProfile and basicintegrity fail. Every time I want to play pokemon go I have to restore the default boot.img. I feel like I'm stuck and can't fix anything because TWRP is broken. Also has anyone gotten magisk fully working with the J3 emerge? Any advice would be highly appreciated.Phone info

I am planning to buy the refurbished J3 Emerge from tello.com, a sprint MVNO, for a brother.
Is there an excellent possibility the twrp NoEncryptNoVerify su method described in op will work for my youngest brother's phone?

After I format, then type yes. I will:
Boot into recovery and check data is mountable
Then I will flash supersu, and the no verity patch in that respective order.
Then I'll enter into download mode, refresh the stock firmware with odin.
Reboot into system, unlock oem, and allow usb debugging.
Return to download mode reflash TWRP 3.1.0-1 with odin.
Questions?
How do I Check data is mountable?
If this method works will I have to to flash
Supersu?
Thank you for your time, I understand that a lot of time and effort has been put into this issue by others and I appreciate it. @ashyx

Why are you flashing the stock firmware AFTER rooting?Hi, I'm sorry about my newbish ways, but I have been trying to deal with this unable to mount issue for weeks. I have read the OP, and this thread. I have a couple questions (possibly dumb)After I format, then type yes. I will:

Then I'll enter into download mode, refresh the stock firmware with odin.
Reboot into system, unlock oem, and allow usb debugging.

You don't need to flash anything is the point. Just follow the instructions as is and leave it at that.sorry idk. I haven't gotten to looming for any custom roms, yet other than looking through youtube. I didn't realize that I need to flash a,custom tom after your process. It makes sense to me now since we are formatting data. As I said I'm still a newb. Thank you for your timely response, and I'm sorry for wasting your time. Is it possible to direct me to a thread for custom roms for the j327p? @ashyxActually now I remeber. I want to be able to do a android backup and currently cannot due to unable to mount data
